Conservation Project 2006

I was subcontracted to be Head Preparator to design and implement a museum wide conservation project for the South West Museum of the Native American in 2004-2006. Sacred kachina dolls along with hundreds of other artifacts needed to be rehoused and photography and conserved. I helped design and oversee the build out of their new storage facility and managed art handler crew that fluctuated between 3-15

.

ReFurbish

We had to rebuild the legs, top and refinish this beautiful huge 7.5 ' Executive desk that was originally made for leaders working at Kaiser Permanete in the late 60's

Seismograph

We where asked to make a cabinet that mimicked the original artist's intentions and allowed the museum to open cabinet and access seismograph paper  to add paper on a 48hr basis. The Cabinet also needed to be made so every part could be easily removable and replaceable as being an exhibit at the Exploratorium means inevitable damage will occur at some point.
